Introduction to Drug and Medical Device Clinical Trial Institution

Beijing Ditan Hospital was approved as one of Beijing's first batch of demonstration research-oriented wards in 2020, currently offering 370 dedicated and shared research-oriented beds. As a national drug clinical trial institution, the hospital have conducted clinical trials for over 30 years since 1989, cumulatively completing more than 1,000 clinical studies in the field of infectious diseases.

In the past five years, the hospital has conducted over 300 drug and medical device clinical trials, including leading 4 international multicenter studies, 52 domestic multicenter drug clinical trials, and 45 domestic multicenter medical device studies. The hospital currently has 13 registered drug clinical trial specialties and 15 registered medical device specialties. The drug clinical trial specialties include infectious diseases, AIDS, hepatitis, cardiology, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, gynecology, respiratory, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, dermatovenereology and the Phase I Clinical Trial Unit. Its medical device clinical trial specialties include respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, dermatology and venereology, interventional oncology, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, infectious diseases, pathology, medical laboratory, and medical imaging.

The hospital focuses on global infectious disease clinical trials and participant rights protection, and is currently advancing the construction of an infectious disease clinical trial collaboration network and a regional ethics review mutual recognition alliance in infectious diseases.
